Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) affects nearly 11% of children aged 4-17 in the United States. Youth with ADHD can have neurological weaknesses in executive functioning, attention, self-regulation, and/or can appear hyperactive compared to same-aged peers. Difficulties in these areas can negatively impact a student’s learning and overall success at school. A psychological evaluation can explore if your child’s hyperactivity and/or inattention is due to ADHD and provide individualized recommendations for your child’s pattern of strengths and weaknesses. This evaluation typically consists of interviews, parent/teacher rating forms, observations, and one-on-one testing with your child.
